A little about me—and why the right words matter

Have you ever read something that had a brilliant idea but was let down by a distracting typo or an awkward sentence? I know how easily those small details can get in the way. That is why I love helping writers make their words clear, confident and enjoyable to read.

I’m a certified proofreader and copy-editor, and I achieved a distinction in my diploma with the College of Media and Publishing. More importantly, I have always had a genuine passion for the English language—how it works, how it changes and how the right words can bring an idea to life.

Books, words and a sharp eye for detail

I love reading—and I mean really love it. There is something special about becoming absorbed in a good book, discovering a memorable turn of phrase or seeing a complicated idea explained simply. That enthusiasm for words is what led me to proofreading and copy-editing.

For me, editing is not about changing a writer’s personality or making every sentence sound the same. It is about protecting the writer’s voice while removing anything that might distract or slow down the reader.

How I help writers

As a proofreader and copy-editor, I work closely with clients to make sure their writing is clear, concise and accessible. I look for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors, but I also consider flow, consistency and whether each sentence does its job.
